Gogi berries are said to be one of the most powerful plants in herbal medicine, going all the way back to ancient Traditional Tibetan medicine and Traditional Chinese medicine, where they used the berries to treat a wide range of ailments.
In Tibet they are also known as “the key to eternal youth”; if only it was that easy right?
From Chinese origin, these berries were traditionally cooked and added to soups. This is quite different to the way we know them now. We have come to know gogi berries as a dried up fruit which are added into smoothies, energy bars or eaten by themselves as a snack.
An interesting fact about gogi berries you which you may not know, is that they come from the nightshade family which includes; potato, tomato, eggplant, belladonna, chili pepper, and even tobacco (yes, tobacco!)

How to Eat Them:
They can be added to your cereal, yoghurt, smoothies, salads or trail mix. Cook and add them to your soups or stews (they go amazingly well with chicken or pork). They can also be used to spice up your jug of water, even to make your own tea, or to simply snack on them just on their own.
